OUR GARMENT PRODUCTION - MEET THE TEAM
We believe in handmade, individual products. Thus, all embroidery, woven materials, prints and dip-dyed fabrics are handmade, making every piece that little bit different and unique. The cuts, patterns and designs are developed in our office in Berlin and are subsequently brought to life by our two wonderful teams working in family-run businesses in India. Without the personal and loving collaboration with these teams, the implementation of our collections would be impossible. We would like to thank them and also to introduce you to the individuals from our team.
Meet Rehan who has worked in the factory for 26 years! As the Senior Pattern Master, he produces all of the patterns as per requirements. Rehan lives with his wife and 3 children in Delhi, and says that he loves the minute attention to every detail and aspect that is put into each mara mea product.
Meet Parvez! He has worked in the factory for 10 years and currently works as a Sample Beader. Married with 2 children, Parvez likes that mara mea products have different beadworks designs to those that he usually likes. They do say that variety is the spice of life after all!
Our Sample Tailor, Sunder, has worked in the factory for 30 years, and he is especially enjoying the experience of making maternity wear! Sunder lives with his wife and his children are all grown up and married themselves.
Meet Mohammed! Having worked in the factory for 23 years, he is our Senior Embroidery Design Master. Married with 3 children, he says that the preparation for every design is a challenge, as placement and proportions must be absolutlely exact, yet the results are always worth the effort and precision that is required.

Introducing Poonam! She has worked in the factory for 18 years and is the Senior Merchandiser. She is married, and although her work is often busy, Poonam enjoys and the thrives on the challenge of working hands-on with Dorina and Maren on the mara mea product development. It is a very active process that is different to working with other customers!
